In this event, we invited Joanna Reyes, a sub-elite runner, to talk to our members on how she trains, races and rests from a professional runner’s perspective. We hope to open our member’s mind to elite level of runner’s world, hope they could learn something from this to better help their day to day training for a greater health life style. Joanna Reyes is the 2nd place winner of San Francisco Marathon 2015. Venue was offered by Sports Basement Sunnyvale for free in support for local sport communities.

In this event, we focused on exercise caused injury prevention and treatment. We hope through this education we can guide our runners for a more enjoyable and injury-free workout and extend their running life span. This particular seminar is hosted by Glee, Ricky who is a BURN runner as well as a well train Physical Therapist. In this event, we focused on introducing marathon training principals, including basic training concept, scheduling, diet, intensities, and recovery. We hope to enable our runners to train more efficiently and enjoy the sports for a memorable memory. The event was recorded and shared on on public internet for others outside of BURN to view. In the fourth event of the series, we used the opportunity to introduce some common race techniques to our runners. Using the up coming California International Marathon as an example, we show the correct tactics in a race, how to protect the runners themselves and how to achieve a better performance goal. The event was recorded and shared on on public internet for others outside of BURN to view. This particular seminar is hosted by Bo, Wang and Liu, Jeff. In the third event of the series, we begin to introduce the correct running form to beginner and intermediate level of runners. This session aims to help runners with incorrect running form to start building up correct way of exercising, extend their athlete life and enjoy the sport even further.
